Our most popular introduction to trekking in the Everest region. This short trek introduces you to the villages and culture of the Sherpa people and reveals many of the Khumbu region's famous peaks including Everest in the shortest time possible. The culmination of the trek will be a visit to the famous Tengboche monastery- the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region and one of the greatest points to view the mountain panorama.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu (1,330m)
Day 2 In Kathmandu, sightseeing Kathmandu Valley
Day 3 Take the short but spectacular flight to Lukla (2,840m) and commence trek to Phakding (2,610m)
Day 4/5 Arrive Namche Bazaar (3,440m), rest and acclimatise with time to explore nearby Sherpa villages
Day 6 Trek through the Sherpa heartland to the monastery at Tengboche (3,860m) for superb mountain views
Day 7/9 Descend to Namche and walk to the mountain airstrip at Lukla
Day 10 Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 11/12 At leisure in Kathmandu
