Every hiker's dream is to stand at the foot of Mount Everest. This lodge-based trek follows in the footsteps of the great climbing parties of the past leading you to EBC, and puts you atop the world's most celebrated viewpoint of Kala Pathar for superb views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and a plethora of other peaks.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu (1,330m)
Day 2 In Kathmandu, sightseeing Kathmandu Valley
Day 3 Fly to Lukla (2,840m); commence trek through Sherpa villages
Day 4/5 Follow the Dudh Kosi Valley and ascend to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), with time to explore nearby Sherpa villages
Day 6 Trek through the Sherpa heartland to the monastery at Tenboche (3,860m) for superb mountain views
Day 7/10 Continue up the main Khumbu valley past Dingboche (4,410) and ascend towards Everest
Day 11 Ascend KalaPathar (5,545m) to gain uninterrupted views of Everest; visit Base Camp (5,364m)
Day 12/14 Retrace our steps to Namche and walk to the mountain airstrip at Lukla
Day 15 Fly Lukla to Kathmandu Day 16/17At leisure in Kathmandu Day 18 Trip concludes
