This trek is designed to fulfill the dream of many trekkers to experience the historic route to the base of the world's highest mountain. This special "walk-in" starting from Jiri, across several river valleys to the Khumbu and Everest BC has the most variety and is also the best for acclimatisation.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu (1,330m)
Day 2 In Kathmandu, sightseeing Kathmandu Valley
Day 3 Drive to Jiri (1,955m)
Day 4/10 Trek in the heart of Solu through beautiful villages populated by people from various ethnic groups, to Phakding (2,610m)
Day 11/12 Follow the Dudh Kosi Valley and ascend to the Sherpa heartland at Namche Bazaar (3,440m); rest and acclimatise
Day 13 Trek to the majestic Tengboche Monastery (3,860m) for superb mountain views Day 14/17 Slowly ascend through villages and yak pastures to Khumbu Glacier
Day 18 Ascend KalaPathar (5,545m) to gain uninterrupted views of Everest
Day 19/21 Retrace our steps to Namche and walk to the mountain airstrip at Lukla
Day 22 Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
